Support the Department of Defense Office of General Counsel and the Department of Justice Office of Federal Programs on Freedom of Information Act Litigations. Management of the Project resides in the Department of Defense Freedom of Information Division (FOID), Executive Services Directorate, of the Washington Headquarters Services. The candidate shall provide technical and implementation support to FOID - Litigation Support Office in its processing of documents, all Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuits for the Office of the Secretary of Defense/Joint Staff (OSD/JS), and providing litigation support and assistance.
• Processing litigation casework by conducting coordination, research, and information release recommendations and assist in reconciling differences identified.
• Identification of non-OSD/JS component equities.
• Identification of information exempted from release IAW the FOIA (5 U.S.C. § 552).
• Meet continually increasing demand of FOIA litigations by assisting other DoD components with litigation support.
One (1) or more years of experience in administrative support services (at a minimum: creating electronic and paper folders, processing documents in accordance with FOID tasking procedures, tracking referrals and ensuring review meet deadlines, establish and organize case files, track pending actions and provide litigation support) and an associates degree or credentials. Candidate shall be familiar with database management, project management, and electronic redaction software, and possess satisfactory ability to communicate orally and in writing. This key person shall obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance.
